Narrative
ROSWELL, NM – A motor vehicle crash on Hwy 380 east caused a temporary shutdown at mm 189 early Sunday. Deputies with the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office say the incident involved a pickup truck hauling a trailer, whose driver swerved to avoid a head-on collision. Unfortunately, the oncoming vehicle collided with the left front of the trailer, resulting in significant damage to the car’s left side and trapping the driver inside.
First responders extricated the car’s driver and they were airlifted to a local hospital in unknown condition. It is unclear if anyone else suffered injuries in the crash.
