Man, 39, dead after motorcycle crash on US 54 near Alamogordo

OTERO COUNTY, NM – A motorcyclist’s life was claimed in a crash on US 54 South near Alamogordo Monday, KRQE revealed.  The collision occurred when the motorcyclist tried to pass a semi-truck. Police speculate the motorcyclist was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. In addition, not wearing a helmet could have also been a contributing factor.  The man was identified as 39-year-old Brian Steven Oberlander.  Oberlander succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles appeared to be impacted.  Before you file a claim
