ARTESIA, NM – A Monday night two-vehicle crash at West Atoka Road and U.S. Highway 285 left a 15-year-old teenager dead. The collision happened around 6 pm, according to KRQE. When the 19-year-old wanted to turn onto West Akota Road, he collided with a semi-truck on US Hwy 285. It is unclear if the semi-truck driver was harmed. The 19-year-old, however, was airlifted to a hospital for unspecified injuries. The passenger with him, a 15-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
