Narrative
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One person died, and three others were hurt Sunday in a multi-vehicle crash in downtown Albuquerque.
The accident happened at night at the intersection of Lomas Boulevard Northwest and 2nd Street Northwest, which is just west of NM-47 near the Wells Fargo Bank.
Police say that a reckless driver ran several red lights before her vehicle ultimately collided with a black Cadillac. The initial crash pushed the Cadillac into three other vehicles.
The driver of the Cadillac died. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name to the public.
Medics transported the driver that cause the accident and two other people to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Officials are charging the driver of the Cadillac, whom they’ve identified as 36-year-old Nikole Zamora, with homicide and bodily injury by vehicle.
A full investigation is underway.
