Narrative
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Police responded to a wrong-way collision last Saturday night along a busy roadway in the North Valley of Albuquerque.
The incident happened sometime before 8:37 p.m. on the eastbound side of Paseo del Norte Boulevard, or NM-423, near 2nd Street Northwest, or NM-47.
The investigation indicates that a westbound driver veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with at least one other vehicle.
It’s not yet clear if anyone sustained injuries in the accident. Police believe the driver may have been intoxicated.
Officials closed the eastbound side of Paseo del Norte for over an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
