Narrative:
LUNA CO., NM – A 69-year-old man died last Saturday when a vehicle struck his bicycle along the highway in central Luna County.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on NM-11 near mile marker 8. This is near the city of Deming.
Police say that a red vehicle fled the scene after hitting and fatally injuring the cyclist.
Authorities identified the victim as Kevin O’Leary.
Officials located and arrested the hit-and-run driver on Monday. Noel Ronquillo Jr., 33, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and involuntary manslaughter.
A full investigation is underway.
