Narrative
MCKINLEY CO., NM – Police are investigating a crash that killed at least one person and involved three 18-wheelers and a passenger vehicle on the interstate near Gallup.
The incident happened on Wednesday on the westbound side of I-40 between mile marker 16 and mile marker 20, which is between Mentmore and Gallup.
The cause of the accident is still unclear. Police have only said that the collision involved a vehicle and three semi-trailers.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim(s) in the crash.
Officials closed the westbound side of I-40 in the vicinity of the collision while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
