ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A woman was arrested early Monday after fleeing the scene of a crash that claimed the life of a cyclist near the Albuquerque International Sunport.
Police say the cyclist was westbound on Gibson Boulevard near Yale Boulevard at about 1 a.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck that fled the scene in the same direction.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
The driver was identified as 23-year-old Leann Grace Blackhorse. She was located by police and arrested on charges including vehicular homicide DWI and fleeing a deadly crash.
